At springtime, Brittlebush (Encelia farinosa), can be found blooming in Arizona.
They are cheerful yellow flowers welcoming Spring to the Sonoran Desert.
Colleen Sinclair, Siphon Draw Apothecary founder and skincare formulator, harvests and infuses them into one of our skincare recipes called Bruise-eez.
These flowers are medicinal.
Known as “arnica of the desert” they offer relief from pain and inflammation.
As she was harvesting them, Colleen decided to paint a portrait of them.
